📜 History of the Bhuta Family

The Bhuta family's history, documented by Barot Mahendra Prasad, traces its lineage back over 550 years. The Barots, a community that records genealogies and notable events, have meticulously chronicled the Bhuta family's social, religious, and pilgrimage activities.

The Bhuta family originated with Shri Mehraj Jitho Mehta, a prominent Kapol leader from Sihore, who built a temple and lake in Loliana around 1468. Shri Mehraj was a wealthy and religious man who visited Dwarka and Kashi on pilgrimage. His son, Shri Laxmidas Mehraj, affectionately known as "Bhoota," is the patriarch from whom all Bhutas descend. The family name "Bhuta" began with Shri Laxmidas around 1480.

The genealogy continued with successive generations, including Sanghji, Venidas, Savaji, Jivraj, and Haraji, who was notable for his wealth, intelligence, and dedication to social and religious service. Shri Haraji Bhuta was particularly influential, relocating the family from Sihore to Bhumbhali and making significant contributions to the community. His son, Shri Hirji Harji Bhuta, continued the family's tradition of religious devotion and community service, making pilgrimages to Dwarka and Narayan Sarovar and organizing significant social events.

The descendants of Shri Hirji Bhuta, including Ravaji, Sunderji, Rugnath, Karshandas, Ratilal, and Harilal, continued to build on the family's legacy of success in business, religion, and social service. The Bhuta family has maintained a strong presence in various regions, including Mumbai, Bhind, and Hathras, and has a rich history of accomplishments and contributions to their communities.

The genealogy and history of the Bhuta family, compiled by Shri Maganlal Bhuta in 1974, are preserved in a 30-page booklet, available for those interested in learning more about this distinguished family's past.
